Tatkare is currently the state unit chairman of the dissident NCP, having teamed up with Ajit Pawar. "On July 4, 2023, I submitted a disqualification petition, requesting Sunil Tatkare's disqualification in accordance with the Tenth Schedule of the Indian Constitution. No action has been taken in the past four months. The delinquent MP's activities constitute a flagrant assault on the Tenth Schedule, and the Honourable Supreme Court has ordered that these petitions be promptly resolved in order to preserve the Constitution and democratic values in true spirit," she stated on X.
