Minister of State for Electronics and IT, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, criticized the Chhattisgarh government for not taking action against the app, pointing out that the state had the authority to recommend the shutdown of the website/app under Section 69A of the Information Technology Act. The ED is currently investigating allegations that the promoters of the Mahadev app were involved in facilitating a payment of ₹508 crore to a certain "Baghel," seemingly referring to Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel.
