The Air Quality Index (AQI) in Delhi, Gurugram, and Noida remains in the 'severe' category, inching towards hazardous levels. The air quality in the capital region deteriorated rapidly to the 'severe' category on Thursday, prompting authorities to implement stage III of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP). Under this plan, primary schools in Delhi will remain closed for the next two days, and vehicles with older emissions standards are prohibited from operating in several National Capital Region (NCR) districts.
