3:26Now PlayingBreaking News: Officers from the Income Tax (I-T) department raided Sohrab Ali's offices and home, a former TMC MLA from Raniganj, as well as the homes of nine other business colleagues. There have been raids at several places in Burnpur, Asansol, Kolkata, and Bankura by a group of Income Tax officials from Kolkata and a few officers from Asansol, according to sources. Notably, Nargis Bano, the spouse of Sohrab Ali, currently holds the position of councillor for Asansol Municipal Corporation's Ward 82 (AMC). In the 2001 Assembly polls, Sohrab Ali ran as an RJD candidate from the Hirapur Assembly seat and was backed by the Left Front; nevertheless, he was defeated by TMC candidate Moloy Ghatak.
