In the wake of cyclone Michaung's aftermath, Chennai faces a new crisis. A spill of oil spans 20 square kilometres, as confirmed by the Indian Coast Guard. The affected region extends along the Kosasthalaiyar River. Conceded efforts are underway to disperse and breakdown the oil. Over 7,000 litres of oil have been removed so far.
