The damage to Chennai's environmentally delicate Ennore Creek is still growing a week after the oil leak. All throughout the Kosasthalaiyar River, oil is floating. There are a few areas along the shore where tar balls and heavy oil coatings are visible. There is also a trail of oil deposits visible on the fishing boats and the shoreline. Inadequate stormwater management at CPCL was found by the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board, which contributed to the overflow of oil-mixed water during last week's rains caused by Cyclone Michaung.
