This comes after a suspected insurgent strike near the border town of Moreh in Manipur's Tengnoupal district resulted in the injuries of at least seven security personnel: two from the BSF and five from the Manipur Police. This occurred one day after armed miscreants opened fire on a gathering at Lilong Chingjao in the Thoubal area, killing four members of the Meitei Pangal community. According to Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh, the attack was probably carried out by militants from Myanmar, a neighboring nation to which Moreh borders.
