Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's group sued the Bombay High Court over the Maharashtra Speaker's decision to not remove members of Uddhav Thackeray's part of the Shiv Sena, Bar and Bench reported on Monday. Bharat Gogavale, the top whip of the Shiv Sena, which is in power, filed the petitions against the 14 MLAs on January 12. The Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Speaker Rahul Narwekar's declaration of the Sena bloc led by Eknath Shinde as the "real political party" following its split in June 2022 was challenged by the Uddhav Thackeray faction in a Supreme Court motion earlier in the day.
