1:24Now PlayingBreaking News: The Union Cabinet authorised the rise in the fair remunerative price of sugarcane to Rs 340/quintal on Wednesday, amid the continued demonstrations by farmers demanding a legal guarantee for the Minimum Support Price (MSO). Speaking to the media, Union Minister Anurag Thakur stated: "To guarantee that the sugar mills are paying farmers a fair and acceptable price for their sugarcane, it has been agreed to fix the price for the forthcoming sugarcane season, which spans from October 1, 2024, to September 30, 2025. In contrast to the previous year, when the price was Rs 315 per quintal, it has been agreed to fix the price at Rs 340 per quintal for the year 2024–2025."
