Following the filing of petitions pertaining to the matter by the state government and the investigation agency, the court responded. The Enforcement Department (ED) has issued summonses to five Tamil Nadu district collectors as a result of its probe into the purported illicit sand mining scam. The state government responded by filing a writ suit contesting these summonses, which prompted the ED to request assistance from the Supreme Court in order to stop the meddling.
