During the budget session later that day, there was disturbance in the chamber as the opposition reiterated their demands for Sukhu's resignation and the split of votes. The House was postponed after the assembly speaker suspended 15 BJP MLAs, including Jai Ram Thakur, for misbehaviour. The BJP MLAs did not give up and left the House in spite of this.
