Shahjahan Sheikh, the accused in the Sandeshkhali ED officer attack case, was taken into the custody of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday, after an earlier today order from the Calcutta High Court. At roughly 6:45 p.m., Sheikh was taken into the custody of the CBI. The West Bengal government was once again directed by the high court to turn over the former leader of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) to the CBI by 4.15 pm. After after, before 4 p.m., a group of CBI agents arrived to Bhawani Bhawan. The West Bengal CID sent him to the SSKM hospital for a medical examination before to granting detention.
