Chandrachud of India announced that the Supreme Court would take into consideration filing a contempt petition against Dinesh Kumar Khera, Chairman of State Bank of India (SBI), for requesting until June 30 to furnish comprehensive particulars of electoral bonds acquired since April 2019 for the purpose of funding political parties in secret. The Supreme Court struck down the electoral bonds scheme as a threat to electoral democracy, but the petitioners Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) and Common Cause jointly filed a contempt petition claiming that the court had ordered the SBI to share details of the bonds sold to anonymous donors and political parties that had benefited from the transactions with the Election Commission of India by March 6, 2024.
