9:46Now PlayingTop News | In an effort to force the Centre to grant their demands, which include a legally binding minimum support price guarantee (MSP), farmers squatted on railway tracks on Sunday in many locations around Punjab as part of a "rail roko" protest organised by the Kisan Mazdoor Morcha and the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (Non-Political). Four Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) unions, including BKU (Ekta Ugrahan), backed the demonstration as well. On Sunday, agricultural activists stopped all of the state's main railway tracks for four hours, from midday to four o'clock. 52 sites in 22 districts, including Amritsar, Ludhiana, Tarn Taran, Hoshiarpur, Ferozepur, Fazilka, Sangrur, Mansa, Moga, and Bathinda, saw farmers sitting on rails, according to reports.
