The five-time MLA from Mau in eastern Uttar Pradesh was active in the real estate industry and was connected to 52 criminal cases in the state as well as several other locations. As a candidate for the Bahujan Samajwadi Party (BSP), he ran for office twice. 2017 marked his most recent assembly election campaign.
