He said that as per the long-term prediction heatwave conditions may prevail over central and Peninsular India. “There is an active western disturbance, likely to influence northwest India from today. We are expecting J&K, Himachal to experience heavy rainfall today. In Delhi, very light rainfall is expected for the next 2 days. The temperature in northwest India is 4 to 5 degrees above normal. In the summer season temperature is likely to be 35 degrees. Warm nights are experienced in Maharashtra. Heatwave conditions and dry weather is expected over central and peninsular India. The temperature will gradually rise over the region. As per the long-term prediction heat wave conditions may prevail,” said Dr Naresh Kumar.
