2:26Now PlayingLok Sabha Polls 2024 | Mamata Banerjee, ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, visited Jalpaiguri and had tea at a local stall, where she also prepared and served tea herself. She engaged in various activities, including plucking tea leaves with tea estate workers and interacting with school children. During her visit, she danced with the tribal community, played drums, and participated in traditional activities. West Bengal's Lok Sabha elections, covering 42 constituencies, are scheduled from April 19 to June 1, with vote counting on June 4. Despite emerging as a prominent leader since the formation of the INDIA Bloc, Mamata failed to reach a conclusion with Congress on seat-sharing negotiations. While Mamata aimed to contest on 40 out of 42 seats in West Bengal, Congress denied her demand, leading to her opting out from the INDIA bloc in the state. In the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, TMC secured 22 seats, with BJP winning 18 seats, while INC managed only two seats in West Bengal.
