as posted by the channelA great news for all the PhD aspirants, the University Grants Commission (UGC) chairman M Jagadesh Kumar announced that students holding Four-Year Undergraduate Programs (FYUP) degrees can now directly apply for the National Eligibility Test (NET) and PhD programs. Previously, a master's degree was a prerequisite. Under the new guidelines, FYUP graduates need to attain a minimum of 75% in their undergraduate courses to qualify for PhD programs. UGC Chairman also asserts that this decision aims to streamline the process and broaden opportunities for aspiring scholars. The upcoming offline NET exam, scheduled for June 16 will work on with these guidelines.
