Union Minister Kiren Rijiju dismissed the 52.9 degree Celsius reading in Mungeshpur, Delhi as incorrect. He attributed it to a three-degree sensor error in the automatic weather station report. Following an investigation by the India Meteorological Department, it was revealed that only the Mungeshpur station had a faulty reading, while other Delhi stations reported accurate temperatures.
