Elections for 60 assembly seats in Arunachal Pradesh and 32 in Sikkim were held on April 19. According to the Election Commission, the BJP claimed victory in 46 of Arunachal Pradesh's 60 seats, with results declared for 50 seats, as the party had previously won 10 seats unopposed.
