3:24Now PlayingThe Kairana Lok Sabha seat was won by Samajwadi Party's debutante candidate Iqra Hasan,who defeated BJP's Pradeep Chaudhary by a margin of over 69,000 votes, as BJP suffered losses in the Lok Sabha polls from Western UP to Purvanchal, securing only 33 compared to the 62 seats it got in the 2019 polls.
Hasan got 48.9% (5,28,013) votes compared to her nearest rival, Chaudhary, who polled 42.5 % (4,58,897) votes, according to Election Commission data
Iqra Hasan has been active in the politics of the Kairana region for the last nine years and is the daughter of former MPs Tabassum & Munawwar Hasan.
