4:46Now PlayingR+D Studio, an architectural innovation firm based in Gurugram, has designed a permanent defence (bunker) for the Indian Army.
Tasked by the 2 Engineer Regiment of the Chinar Corps, the Indian Army engaged the Studio to design and implement a pilot outpost at 14,000 feet near Razdan Pass, Jammu & Kashmir, to improve conditions for soldiers enduring harsh weather.
Since sandbags are often used for construction, insulation, and security, the firm used this as inspiration to design the 13" x9" x6" Silica Composite Hollow Blocks (SCHB) made from 100% recycled material consisting of foundry dust and single-use/ multi-use plastic waste and zero natural materials.
