The event, led by controversial self-proclaimed godman Bhole Baba, attracted over 2.5 lakh people despite a 80,000-person capacity limit. Bhole Baba, a former policeman, previously faced legal issues for holding a similarly overcrowded Satsang during the COVID surge in 2022. The recent stampede was triggered by overcrowding and blocked exits as authorities tried to let Bhole Baba's cavalcade through.
