Justice Singh, the first from Manipur to join the Supreme Court, was previously Chief Justice of the Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh High Court and will retire in 2025. Justice Mahadevan, currently the acting Chief Justice of the Madras High Court, will also join, restoring the Supreme Court's strength to 34 judges.
