The fallen soldiers were identified as Captain Brijesh Thapa from Darjeeling, Naik D Rajesh from Srikakulam, and Sepoys Bijendra and Ajay from Jhunjhunu, all part of the 10 Rashtriya Rifles counter-insurgency unit. Father of Captain Thapa, Bhuwanesh Thapa says "I am proud of my son for what he did for the Nation and sacrificed his life for its security.."
