Following intense pressure from student protests demanding justice and action against the illegal use of basements, authorities launched a crackdown. At Rau's IAS coaching center, there were at least 30 students present. Twelve to fourteen were rescued and taken to the hospital, while others managed to escape. Sadly, three students lost their lives due to the flooding in the basement. Following the tragedy, the Political war of words has peaked between Aam Aadmi Party, BJP, and Delhi L-G. “Water flowed inside the basement like water from a dam..” An eyewitness tells to Times Network.
