On July 30, over 250 people died in Kerala due to landslides. In June, heavy rains led to floods in New Delhi after extreme heat. Also, torrential rains caused a fatal airport roof collapse in June, and three students drowned in a flooded basement classroom on July 27. A study found that from 1999 to 2019, only 895 parliamentary questions about climate change were raised by 1,019 MPs, making up just 0.3 percent of all questions asked.
