The Court instructed the central vigilance commissioner to appoint an officer to oversee the CBI probe and ensure it was conducted promptly. During the hearing, the High Court criticized the Delhi Police and the Municipal Corporation for their handling of the incident. A bench consisting of Acting Chief Justice Manmohan and Justice Tushar Rao Gedela noted that MCD officials seem unconcerned, suggesting such negligence has become routine.
