4:03Now PlayingUnited Nations General Assembly chief Dennis Francis said that New Delhi has lifted 800 million people out of poverty in the last 5 or 6 years ‘simply by the use of smartphones’.
While highlighting the solution for development through digitalisation, the UNGA chief cited the example of India, pointing out how rural farmers ‘who never had a relationship with the banking system, are now able to conduct all their transactions on their smartphones’.
