3:14Now PlayingIndian wrestler & Olympian Vinesh Phogat brought her best game to the table in her Paris Olympics campaign opener against the Tokyo 2020 champion Yui Susaki of Japan, in the women's 50 kg freestyle round of 16 match.
Susaki was in a comfortable position, poised to win the contest after leading 1-0 at the end of the first period, but Vinesh turned it around in the dying stages of the second period, outdoing her Japanese opponent to secure a 3-2 win and make it to the quarter-finals.
Vinesh went up against the 2019 European Champion Oksana Livach in the quarter-finals, where the 29-year-old overcame Livach with a score of 7-5.
This victory brings her one step closer to claiming an Olympic medal that has eluded her in her previous two attempts.
