India’s central bank is set to inject $10 billion into the banking system through a foreign-exchange swap to address liquidity concerns. The Reserve Bank of India announced on Friday that the three-year swap auction will take place on February 28. Under this mechanism, the RBI will purchase dollars from banks in exchange for rupees, with a commitment to sell them back at a later date, effectively increasing rupee liquidity in the system.
