3:22Now PlayingOn Saturday, August 2, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) reported that its team stationed at Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) heard explosions and observed smoke rising from a nearby area. According to the plant, one of its auxiliary facilities had been struck. In an official statement, the IAEA confirmed there was no direct damage to the reactors but warned the incident poses serious global safety concerns. The agency noted that the auxiliary site is located about 1,200 meters from the plant’s perimeter, and by the afternoon, smoke was still visible in that direction.
