3:17Now PlayingRussia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) said on Wednesday that it had prevented an attempted assassination of a Russian serviceman in the Novosibirsk region, alleging the plot was orchestrated by Ukrainian intelligence services. According to the FSB, two underage Russian citizens were recruited via an online platform promoting quick money-making opportunities and were supplied with hazardous chemicals.
The chemicals were applied to the serviceman’s car with the intent to poison him. Authorities say the serviceman was unharmed, and the minors have been detained and charged with attempted murder in connection with the performance of official duties. Ukraine has not responded to the accusations.
