LIVE: Imbestigasyon ng Senate Blue Ribbon Committee sa maanomalyang flood control projects sa bansa. The Senate Blue Ribbon Committee on Tuesday morning officially opened its inquiry into the alleged anomalies in the flood control projects in the country.

"It is our duty to get to the bottom of this. Kahit sisirin pa natin ito kung kailangan. No stone should be left unturned and no one shall be spared. Pagtulungan po natin hanapin ang katotohanan para tuluyang makapaglatag ng epektibo at pangmatagalang solusyon sa suliranin natin sa baha," first-term Sen. Rodante Marcoleta, chairperson of the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee, said during the opening of the hearing.

The investigation follows the order of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. during his State of the Nation Address in July to look into the flood mitigation projects nationwide after widespread flooding struck the country during that month.

The Senate blue ribbon committee on Tuesday, August 19, begins its probe into anomalous flood control projects.

Senator Rodante Marcoleta, who will preside over his first hearing as committee chairman, said the probe will focus on ties between contractors and public officials profiting from flood control projects. Some senators and House members are linked to construction firms — either as campaign donors or through family-owned businesses.

The Senate probe comes after President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., in his fourth State of the Nation Address, called out public officials and companies involved in corruption in flood control projects.
