Russian Defence Minister Andrei Belousov said Moscow and Minsk are creating a unified defence space and expanding joint training, citing over 150 events including the strategic “West-2025” drills. He also warned that the expiry of the New START nuclear treaty in February 2026 could destabilise global security. Belarusian Defence Minister Viktor Khrenin accused the West of militarising Europe and said Belarus continues to rely on Russia for advanced weaponry, training, and defence co-operation through 2030.
