At least 18 people have died and two remain missing after Typhoon Fung-Wong brought torrential rain and devastating floods across the Philippines, forcing the evacuation of over 2 million residents, local media reported on Tuesday. According to the Inquirer, more than 2.4 million people have been affected across 15 regions, including Central Luzon, the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), and Western Visayas. The powerful storm inundated towns, damaged infrastructure, and left thousands in emergency shelters as authorities rushed to deliver aid and assess widespread destruction.
