3:02Now PlayingA day after ousted Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina made her first public address since fleeing the country following the 2024 uprising, Bangladesh’s interim government objected strongly and voiced surprise over the development. Dhaka said it was “shocked” that Indian authorities allowed the event to take place. Bangladesh has sought Hasina’s extradition from India, while New Delhi has maintained that her stay is a personal decision and that she is free to remain as long as she wishes. Hasina has been living in India since August 2024, after her government collapsed amid massive student-led protests.
