3:42Now PlayingIran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has reportedly been killed after a massive US-Israel military assault on Iran. According to multiple reports, Khamenei’s Tehran compound was hit with up to 30 bombs, destroying the complex and killing the long-time Iranian leader who ruled the country since 1989.
Iranian state television later confirmed Khamenei’s death after his body was recovered from the rubble following the strikes. Israeli media had earlier reported the development, and US President Donald Trump also confirmed the news on social media.
The large-scale operation — reportedly involving over 900 strikes in just 12 hours — targeted Iranian military bases, nuclear facilities and government buildings across the country. Advanced fighter jets including F-35s and F-22s were used along with one-way attack drones.
The attack has triggered a major escalation in the Middle East, with Iran vowing retaliation while global powers call for restraint amid fears of a wider regional war.
Watch the full report for the latest updates on the US-Israel strikes on Iran, Khamenei’s death, and what this means for the Middle East.
