As per Reuters, Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik announced the rise in prices in a televised video message. According to Reuters, Pakistan raised the petrol and diesel prices and set it at 335.86 rupees & 321.17 rupees respectively. Before the announcement, fuel stations in major cities like Lahore and Karachi had long lines of people waiting to fill up. The decision is likely to ripple through to higher inflation and hit Pakistan's impoverished population, Reuters reported.
