3:20Now PlayingItaly is cutting a consumers tax on fuels in an effort to keep prices under control as the country struggles with the results of the Iran war and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz on the price of oil worldwide. Italian Premier Giorgia Meloni on Wednesday announced a series of measures to combat fuels price hikes and to help consumers.
Other measures include a tax credit for truckers to equal to the increase in diesel prices to avoid a rise in fuel prices leading to a rise in prices of consumer goods. Meloni said she is working on everything she can to protect Italian consumers while also working to end the conflict in the Middle East.
