3:30Now PlayingThousands of students marched in Santiago on Thursday against a three per cent cut to Chile's education budget and a government decision to restrict free tuition to those aged under 30, with the protest ending in clashes with police.
Footage shows students being pushed back by carabineros using water cannon trucks. The demonstrators gathered near the former National Congress after student groups Confech and ACES called the march under the slogan 'Against the rollback, we march,' in protest at measures introduced by President Jose Antonio Kast's government shortly after taking office.
