3:07Now PlayingCuba has completed the unloading of 100,000 tonnes of Russian crude oil at its Matanzas port, in a move aimed at easing a severe energy crisis caused by a U.S. oil blockade. The shipment, equivalent to approximately 730,000 barrels, arrived aboard the Anatoly Kolodkin and was unloaded over a 96-hour operation, officials said. Irenaldo Perez, deputy director of Union Cuba Petroleum, described the delivery as "an important relief" and expressed gratitude to Russia for demonstrating longstanding bilateral ties. The crude will now be processed into refined products to address Cuba’s energy shortages.
