Fico is in the capital, Hanoi, on a trip to strengthen ties with the Southeast Asian nation. "Our discussions have confirmed that the world is a global place, because we face similar challenges to those you are facing – primarily the area of energy security, and the shortage of petroleum products and other goods, which the world faces with great anxiety today," Fico said.
During a press conference after their meeting, the prime ministers announced that the two countries elevated their relationship to a strategic partnership. The move is expected to accelerate bilateral cooperation in fields including defense, nuclear energy and security.
