At the same time, Lavrov confirmed that Moscow remains in contact with Washington but voiced scepticism about US intentions, accusing it of pursuing dominance in global energy markets.
The remarks come amid escalating tensions after joint US-Israel strikes on Iran and Tehran’s retaliatory actions. Recent negotiations between Washington and Tehran in Islamabad collapsed after prolonged discussions failed to yield a breakthrough. Meanwhile, a blockade ordered by Donald Trump has disrupted shipping flows, intensifying uncertainty in global markets and raising concerns over prolonged instability in West Asia.
