"On the Russian drone incursion into Romania, we consider this to be a most most serious act, another act of unacceptable aggression by Russia. We stand in full solidarity with Romania and its people," said Olof Gill. Romania alleged that a 'Russian drone' hit a block of flats overnight, calling it a 'grave escalation' - and reported that two people had been injured.
NATO chief Mark Rutte hit out at Moscow's recklessness' while European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said Russia had 'crossed yet another line'. Romanian President Nicusor Dan announced that the Russian consulate in the port city of Constanta would be closed - and the consul would be declared 'persona non grata'.
