4:15Now PlayingIn a significant push to tackle Delhi-NCR's chronic air pollution crisis, the Union Cabinet has approved a 9,585-crore rupees 'Clean Mobility' scheme. The scheme aims to accelerate the replacement of older commercial vehicles with cleaner BS-VI compliant and electric alternatives.
The two-year programme targets owners of BS-IV and older vehicles, offering a wide range of financial incentives to encourage cleaner mobility. The scheme offers a layered incentive structure, designed to make the transition financially viable for vehicle owners. The Centre will provide a five per cent interest subvention on vehicle loans for five years, monthly fuel vouchers of up to 4,800 rupees – depending on vehicle category, and additional one-time benefits for those opting for electric vehicles.
