Speaking to Fox News, Vance said diplomacy remains the preferred approach and argued that negotiations with Iran are in the United States’ strategic interest, regardless of differing views from Israel. “Israel may like that, they may not like that, but this is in the best interest of the United States,” he said.
Vance added that Iran appears motivated to avoid prolonged conflict and is engaging with proposals on the table. “The Iranians don’t want this war to continue. It’s not in their best interests… we’re of course going to verify it,” he said, calling a possible deal a “home run for the American people.”
