3:04Now PlayingPrime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to meet U.S. President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the G7 summit taking place in Evian, France on June 16-17. Mr. Trump has already announced that he will participate in the G7 summit hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron. The meeting will mark the first interaction between Mr. Modi and Mr. Trump since they last met in February 2025 in Washington DC. The sources did not elaborate on the details of the planned discussion but it is understood that the two sides will cover the bilateral trade pact under negotiation, and other regional and global matters of mutual concern. The officials provided this information soon after sharing details on Mr. Modi’s upcoming travel schedule for France and the Slovak Republic.
The PM’s visit to France will take place in two segments, with the first segment stretching from June 13 to June 14, and the second taking place from June 16 to June 19. He will hold a meeting with Mr. Macron on June 14 in Nice, which has emerged as an important link in the India Middle East Economic Corridor (IMEEC) project that the Government of India has been advocating since the G20 summit of 2023.
