3:16Now PlayingPhilippine and US forces have held a joint air assault and manoeuvre drill in Cagayan, in the northern Philippines, as part of Exercise Salaknib 2026, a two-phase drill which began in April amid growing China-Taiwan tensions. In addition to the Philippine and US forces, this year's exercise also includes participation from the Japan Ground Self-Defence Force, the Australian Army, and the New Zealand Army. The aim of the exercise is to enhance regional coordination and interoperability among these forces.
