According to Iran’s Mehr state news agency, Tehran described the move as an initial response to what it called breaches of commitments by Washington and Tel Aviv. Iran argued that recent developments amounted to a violation of commitments outlined in the first clause of the ceasefire memorandum and justified its decision to restrict maritime traffic through the strategic waterway.
